Placement tests render two kinds of services: they help people in doubt to know what their level in French is and they give advice to the best match possible in terms of classes available at the Alliance for the term. You first fill in the Learner's Profile Form. Secondly you choose the level you want to join and you download the appropriate test. Once the test is completed you send it to the placement test coordinator through e-mail. It may be that the person-in-charge contacts you per phone to check on how you cope with conversational French or discuss further details. A final proposal will be send to you per e-mail as a conclusion of the placement analysis.

3. Download the XL document and complete the test entering an X in the boxes you feel are right. The test produces valid information for further orientation if it is completed within 15 minutes. Please do not invalidate the interpretation of your performance by exceeding this time limit

4. Send the Profile Questionnaire (Q-Pro) and the Structure Test (S-Test), duly completed, as documents attached to your mail addressed to the Alliance’s Placement Desk: courses@alliancefrancaise.org.sg

5. You will then receive a proposal for a course at the Alliance with timings that will try to be matching the time slots you indicated in your Profile Questionnaire.

6. It may be that the Structure Test is not sufficient for suggesting the proper choice.
In that case the Placement Desk will ask you to do one more test, a Reading Comprehension Test (RC-Test), to be downloaded and forwarded like the Structure Test before. RC-Tests are to be completed within 10 minutes for providing valid information.
